**Disclosure:** Flownally publishes this guide and appears first in the comparison. We explain how we researched the platforms, why Flownally is listed first, and when another platform may be the better fit.

:::summary Quick answer

**There’s no single best conversational commerce platform for every ecommerce team.** Flownally is our pick for connected journeys combining automation, human advice, and follow-up; Gorgias for Shopify-centric AI and customer service; Manychat for social DM automation; and Dialog for onsite product discovery.

The full comparison below covers eight platforms and shows where each one fits best.

:::

## What is conversational commerce?

Conversational commerce means using direct customer conversations to support product discovery, buying decisions, customer service, and later purchases. In ecommerce, those conversations can happen through WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, SMS, website chat, AI shopping assistants, and other conversational channels.

For a deeper explanation of how it works across the buying journey, read our [**guide to conversational commerce in ecommerce →**](https://www.flownally.com/blog/what-is-conversational-commerce-in-ecommerce)

## How we researched this guide

We compared each platform against six questions:

1. What starts the customer conversation?
2. What happens when automation reaches its limit?
3. How are customer context and conversation history handled?
4. How does the platform connect conversations with ecommerce data and events?
5. What can happen after purchase or after a conversation goes quiet?
6. What does the pricing model actually charge for?

Our assessment of Flownally reflects first-hand product experience. The other 7 platforms were reviewed using their current official product pages, help documentation, integration guides, and pricing pages on **October 12, 2026**. We haven’t hands-on tested those platforms for this article, so we don’t present documentation-based claims as first-hand product testing.

Prices and capabilities change frequently. Where pricing is included below, we specify the billing model or conditions that materially affect the number.

We also considered broader products including Zendesk, Sprinklr, Attentive, Klaviyo, and other platforms sometimes included under the conversational commerce label. Ultimately, we prioritized the 8 products below because together they represent distinct operating models relevant to ecommerce teams: connected journeys, ecommerce helpdesk and AI, omnichannel commerce, autonomous ecommerce CRM, conversation infrastructure, social automation, WhatsApp-centered engagement, and onsite product discovery.

Flownally appears first because we publish this guide and because connected ecommerce conversations are the problem our product is designed around. The other seven platforms are listed in no particular order and are presented according to the jobs they’re strongest at.

## 1. Flownally — best for connected ecommerce conversations

**Best for:** Ecommerce teams that want automation, human advice, and follow-up to work as one customer journey.

Flownally brings WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and SMS conversations into one workspace and connects them with customer profiles, no-code journeys, chatbots, intent detection, routing, human handoff, outbound campaigns, and external business events.

It focuses on what happens **between** individual interactions.

A customer can ask a product question, move through an automated path, need individual help, complete a purchase, and later enter another relevant journey without the team treating every stage as a separate process.

### Why Flownally stands out

- **Automation and human advice can belong to the same workflow:** When a chatbot or journey reaches a point that needs individual attention, the conversation can move to a team with earlier messages and available customer context still visible.
- **External events can change what happens next:** Flownally supports APIs, custom events, webhooks, and HTTP requests, so events happening outside the inbox can start or influence a customer journey.
- **Follow-up can be designed into the process:** Journeys can wait for a period, date, or business event and then continue when another message or action becomes relevant.
- **Proactive communication is part of the same system:** Teams can use campaigns to reach customer segments across supported channels, while journeys handle more event- or behavior-driven follow-up.

For deeper ecommerce-system connections, Flownally currently relies more on APIs, custom events, webhooks, and HTTP requests than on the kind of native Shopify integration offered by Gorgias or SleekFlow. This gives teams more flexibility across different ecommerce stacks, but may require more setup than a ready-made native integration.

### Example: a replenishment journey in Flownally

Here’s an illustrative example of how the pieces can work together.

Imagine a consumable product.

An `order_created` event starts a post-purchase journey. Twenty-five days later, the customer receives a WhatsApp replenishment reminder.

They reply:

:::message Customer
Can I get the bigger pack instead?
:::

The reply returns to the shared inbox, where a team member can see the earlier conversation and available customer context, answer the product-specific question, and continue the buying conversation from there.

The value comes from connecting the business event, automated timing, customer reply, and human next step in one journey.

For more examples, see our guide to [**reorder reminders for consumable products →**](https://www.flownally.com/blog/reorder-reminder-message-examples-for-consumable-products)

### Trade-offs

Flownally may be a weaker fit when your main priority is deep native Shopify service actions, a very large library of ready-made enterprise integrations, highly autonomous AI customer service, or a dedicated onsite AI shopping assistant.

Gorgias, SleekFlow, TextYess, or Dialog can be stronger for those specific requirements.

### Pricing

Flownally includes **unlimited users** across its standard plans and primarily scales by monthly active contacts and support level.

Current monthly pricing is:

| **Plan** | **Monthly price** | **Active contacts** | **Key difference** |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Starter | $19 | 100 | Full product [feature set](https://www.flownally.com/features); standard support |
| Professional | $199 | 1,000 | Higher contact allowance and support level |
| Ultimate | $499 | 10,000 | Higher contact allowance and support level |
| Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom volume and support |

**What changes between plans:** **Flownally offers a 14-day free trial with full product access and no credit card required.** All Flownally plans include the full product feature set and unlimited users. Plans primarily scale with active-contact volume and support level. Annual billing is 25% lower. [See current Flownally pricing](https://www.flownally.com/pricing?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=listicle)

**Best fit:** Choose Flownally when conversations need to move between automation and people and remain relevant beyond the first customer interaction.

## 2. Gorgias — best for Shopify-centric AI sales and customer service

**Best for:** Shopify brands that want a customer-service platform with deep store actions and increasingly autonomous AI.

Gorgias grew from an ecommerce helpdesk into a broader sales and service platform. Its AI Agent can handle customer support and shopping conversations, while its Shopify integration connects conversations directly with order and customer data.

### Why Gorgias stands out

Gorgias has particularly deep Shopify functionality. Teams can access customer and order information inside the helpdesk and perform commerce actions without moving between multiple systems.

Its AI Agent can independently resolve eligible interactions, while shopping functionality can support pre-purchase questions.

Gorgias has also expanded AI Agent beyond email and website chat. Instagram DMs and Facebook Messenger are currently in open beta. As of October 2026, AI Agent is also available on WhatsApp in open beta for Shopify-connected stores.

### Trade-offs

Gorgias may be a weaker fit if your ecommerce stack isn’t centered on Shopify. Its deepest AI capabilities currently depend on a connected Shopify store, so businesses using other commerce platforms won’t get the same level of AI and native store integration.

It may also be less suitable for teams that prefer a platform-agnostic, event-driven architecture for building custom customer journeys across different ecommerce systems. Gorgias is particularly strong when Shopify data and native commerce actions sit at the center of the customer experience.

### Pricing

Gorgias Helpdesk pricing scales with billable tickets:

| **Plan** | **Monthly price** | **Included tickets** | **Key difference** |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Starter | $40 | 50 | Entry-level helpdesk |
| Basic | $90 | 300 | Higher ticket volume |
| Pro | $550 | 2,000 | More advanced helpdesk capabilities |
| Advanced | $1,430 | 5,000 | Higher scale and advanced capabilities |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom scale and requirements |

**What changes between plans:** These prices reflect Gorgias’s current monthly pricing with AI Agent enabled, as shown by default on its public pricing page. Plans scale primarily by ticket volume and included automated interactions. Additional tickets and AI-resolved interactions are charged separately, while products such as Voice and SMS can add further costs. [See current Gorgias pricing](https://www.gorgias.com/pricing)

**Best fit:** Choose Gorgias when Shopify-native service operations and autonomous AI matter more than platform flexibility across different commerce architectures.

Want a deeper comparison? [**Read Flownally vs Gorgias article →**](https://www.flownally.com/blog/flownally-vs-gorgias-ecommerce)

## 3. SleekFlow — best for broad omnichannel commerce with native Shopify workflows

**Best for:** Ecommerce teams that want an omnichannel inbox, AI agents, automation, and native commerce workflows in one broader platform.

SleekFlow combines messaging, AI agents, broadcasts, automation, contact management, and ecommerce integrations.

Its Shopify integration connects store information to inbox conversations and automation, while its AI Agent can access Shopify product information to support shopping conversations.

### Why SleekFlow stands out

SleekFlow covers a wide customer-engagement surface. Its current Pro plan includes an omnichannel inbox, AI Agents, broadcasts, Flow Builder, Shopify integration, API access, and analytics. Premium adds more advanced integrations and agentic workflows.

This can be particularly attractive for teams that want native commerce data alongside broader messaging and AI capabilities.

### Trade-offs

SleekFlow may be a weaker fit if you need two-way native Shopify data sync or expect high automation volume on a lower-tier plan. Its Shopify integration currently syncs data one way, from Shopify into SleekFlow, and Flow Builder limits vary by plan.

### Pricing

On monthly billing, SleekFlow currently lists:

| **Plan** | **Monthly price** | **Monthly active contacts** | **Key difference** |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Essential | $69 | Unlimited | Shared inbox, AI Inbox Co-pilot, simple automations; 3 users, 5 channels |
| Pro | $139 | From 500 | Adds AI Agents, broadcasts, Flow Builder, Shopify and API access; 10 users, 10 channels |
| Premium | $349 | From 1,000 | Adds integrated AI agents, webhooks, advanced integrations and analytics |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom scale, governance, support and Salesforce integration |

Additional MACs on Pro and Premium cost $20 per 100 contacts. WhatsApp Business API and SMS fees are charged separately. Annual billing is up to 20% lower. [See current SleekFlow pricing](https://sleekflow.io/pricing)

**Best fit:** Choose SleekFlow when broad omnichannel reach, AI agents, and native Shopify workflows outweigh the value of a narrower conversation-focused stack.

Want a deeper comparison? [**Read Flownally vs SleekFlow article →**](https://www.flownally.com/blog/flownally-vs-sleekflow-ecommerce)

## 4. TextYess — best for AI-first ecommerce CRM and customer care

**Best for:** Ecommerce brands that want AI to take on a meaningful share of CRM, selling, and customer-care work across the website and messaging channels.

TextYess currently positions itself as an **Autonomous CRM for ecommerce brands** rather than only a WhatsApp sales assistant. Its agents work across email, WhatsApp, and the ecommerce website, while TextYess also describes AI agents answering and selling on WhatsApp, onsite, and by phone.

### Why TextYess stands out

TextYess is particularly AI-forward.

Its onsite assistant can answer product questions, recommend products, and add products to the cart. Its broader platform can use orders, conversations, and customer behavior to inform campaigns and customer communication.

That makes TextYess different from tools where AI is mainly a feature inside an inbox or workflow builder.

### Trade-offs

TextYess may be a weaker fit if you need a clearly documented native ecommerce integration outside Shopify or prefer deterministic journeys where people remain more central to the workflow. Its current Pro offering explicitly includes Shopify integration, while custom ERP and CRM integrations are positioned as Enterprise capabilities.

### Pricing

TextYess’s only non-custom plan, [Pro plan](https://www.textyess.com/pricing), currently starts at **€249/month**, billed monthly, with usage-based pricing. It includes email, WhatsApp, onsite chat, AI customer care, Shopify integration, analytics, onboarding, and account management. Annual billing is up to 20% lower.

TextYess explicitly states that its published prices are in **EUR**.

**Best fit:** Choose TextYess when your goal is to let AI run more of ecommerce CRM, selling, and customer care rather than primarily orchestrating structured journeys between automation and people.

## 5. Respond.io — best for high-volume omnichannel conversation management

**Best for:** Mid-market B2C teams managing substantial conversation volumes across channels, teams, and workflows.

Respond.io is broader conversation infrastructure rather than ecommerce-specific software. It combines an omnichannel inbox with routing, workflow automation, AI, integrations, developer tools, and reporting.

### Why Respond.io stands out

Its strength is operational flexibility.

Growth and higher plans support broadcasts, workflow automation, AI Agents, developer APIs, and integrations. Advanced adds HTTP requests, incoming and outgoing webhooks, multiple workspaces, and custom channels.

That makes it a strong candidate for larger teams whose biggest problem is coordinating conversations across many channels and systems.

### Trade-offs

Respond.io may be a weaker fit if you want deep ecommerce data and actions available through a native commerce integration out of the box. For Shopify, its own documentation says deeper order and contact synchronization is handled through tools such as Make, n8n, or Zapier.

That flexibility can work well for teams with a mixed stack, but it requires more integration setup than platforms with deeper native ecommerce connections.

### Pricing

Respond.io’s current pricing page shows these monthly prices:

| **Plan** | **Monthly price** | **Monthly active contacts** | **Key difference** |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Starter | $99 | Unlimited | Shared inbox, AI Assist and AI Prompt; no Workflows or AI Agents |
| Growth | $199 | Per 1,000 | Adds Workflows, Broadcasts, AI Agents, API and Make/Zapier integrations |
| Advanced | $349 | Per 1,000 | Adds HTTP requests, webhooks, multiple workspaces, custom channels and SSO |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Unlimited users, higher workspace limits and higher API rate limits |

Growth and Advanced also include AI credits, while additional MACs and users are charged separately. WhatsApp fees aren’t included in the subscription. Growth and Advanced currently start with 1,000 monthly active contacts. [See current Respond.io pricing](https://respond.io/pricing)

**Best fit:** Choose Respond.io when conversation routing, workflow flexibility, integrations, and multichannel operations matter more than an ecommerce-specific customer-journey model.

## 6. Manychat — best for Instagram engagement and social DM automation

**Best for:** Ecommerce brands whose conversational acquisition starts primarily through Instagram, TikTok, comments, Stories, and social campaigns.

Manychat remains one of the clearest specialists in this comparison. Its core value is turning social engagement into automated private conversations: comment-to-DM, Story interactions, keyword flows, lead capture, and social-first funnels.

### Why Manychat stands out

Manychat makes it easy to convert public social activity into private messaging.

The current product has also grown beyond simple Instagram automations. Pro and higher plans add WhatsApp, SMS, email, broadcasts, team Inbox features, and AI-powered conversations.

### Trade-offs

Manychat may be a weaker fit if you need broad omnichannel team operations on a lower-tier plan. Pro supports up to three channels and three users, while Business is where unlimited channels and broader team Inbox and lead-routing capabilities begin. Advanced mainly increases contact and team capacity further.

### Pricing

Under Manychat’s pricing model introduced in March 2026, monthly pricing for new plans currently starts at:

| **Plan** | **Monthly price** | **Active contacts** | **Key difference** |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free | $0 | 25 | Basic automations, 2 channels, 1 user, basic Inbox |
| Essential | $17 | 250 | Unlimited automations, 2 users, up to 2 channels; no WhatsApp, SMS, or email |
| Pro | $39 | 2,500 | Adds WhatsApp/SMS/email, AI-powered conversations, broadcasts, 3 users |
| Business | $99 | 7,500 | Unlimited channels, shared team Inbox, lead routing, 5 users |
| Advanced | $199 | 25,000 | Higher contact and team limits, up to 10 users and 10 Inbox seats; enterprise-scale messaging |

Additional Active Contacts are billed separately once the included allowance is exceeded. Plan availability may vary by region, and older Manychat accounts may still be on the previous pricing model. [See current Manychat pricing](https://manychat.com/pricing)

**Best fit:** Choose Manychat when social engagement is your primary source of conversational demand.

Want a deeper comparison? [**Read Flownally vs Manychat article →**](https://www.flownally.com/blog/flownally-vs-manychat-for-ecommerce)

## 7. Wati — best for WhatsApp-centered teams expanding across channels

**Best for:** Businesses where WhatsApp carries a major share of customer communication and the team now needs more automation, campaigns, social channels, and team workflows.

Wati’s roots are WhatsApp-first, but its current platform has expanded considerably. Its pricing page now describes an omnichannel inbox covering WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, widgets, and other entry points, together with campaigns, automation, ecommerce tools, and AI capabilities.

### Why Wati stands out

Wati stands out for the breadth it has built around a WhatsApp-first operating model. It combines WhatsApp Business setup, campaigns, team inbox workflows, ecommerce tools, social automation, and increasingly broader omnichannel capabilities in one platform. Higher tiers add more advanced routing, integrations, webhooks, and AI options.

### Trade-offs

Wati may be a weaker fit if you need several channels, a larger team, advanced integrations, and AI capabilities on an entry-level plan. Growth plan currently supports one connected channel and three users, with no additional users or webhooks, while more advanced automation, integrations, and AI capabilities require higher tiers or add-ons.

### Pricing

Wati’s pricing varies by region. In its current US/Western USD pricing, monthly billing is:

| **Plan** | **Monthly price** | **Automation triggers / month** | **Key difference** |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Growth | $69 | 1,000 | 3 users, up to 15K broadcasts/month, 2 integrations; no additional users or webhooks |
| Pro | $149 | 2,000 | Adds advanced automation, unlimited broadcasts, 5 integrations, routing and 5 users |
| Business | $349 | 5,000 | Adds multiple WhatsApp numbers, unlimited integrations, extensive webhooks and higher API limits |

Wati also charges separately for messaging, and some capabilities are paid add-ons. Astra AI Agents are available as a separate add-on rather than being included in the base Pro subscription. Prices vary by country, so teams should confirm the current rate for their market. [See current Wati pricing](https://www.wati.io/pricing)

**Best fit:** Choose Wati when WhatsApp already drives meaningful sales or service volume and you want to build broader automation and team workflows around it.

## 8. Dialog — best for onsite AI product discovery

**Best for:** Ecommerce businesses where shoppers need help understanding, comparing, and choosing products before purchase.

Dialog approaches conversational commerce from the storefront rather than the team inbox. Its AI shopping assistant helps visitors discover products and answer buying questions while they browse.

### Why Dialog stands out

Dialog is designed for the moment of product choice.

That makes it particularly relevant for considered purchases, complex catalogs, technical products, beauty, supplements, luxury, or other categories where customers benefit from something closer to an in-store advisor.

Dialog currently states that it works with **Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce, SAP, Scayle, and Spryker**.

### Trade-offs

Dialog may be a weaker fit if you need a shared team inbox, customer-service helpdesk, or broader lifecycle messaging. Its public product positioning focuses primarily on onsite product discovery and guided selling before purchase.

### Pricing

Dialog bills by monthly website traffic:

| **Plan** | **Monthly price** | **Usage allowance** | **Key difference** |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free | $0 | 200 conversations / month | Basic AI model, conversation history, 2 uploaded documents |
| Starter | $249 | Up to 25,000 monthly unique visitors | Advanced AI model, custom branding, unlimited documents |
| Standard | $399 | Up to 50,000 monthly unique visitors | Same core feature set, higher traffic allowance |
| Scale | $799 | Up to 100,000 monthly unique visitors | Same core feature set, highest public traffic allowance |

Dialog primarily scales with website traffic rather than contacts, tickets, or agent seats. This makes traffic volume an important part of the cost calculation for larger ecommerce stores. [See current Dialog pricing](https://apps.shopify.com/dialog-ai-sales-assistant).

**Best fit:** Choose Dialog when product discovery on the ecommerce website is the primary conversational problem you want to solve.

## What the headline price leaves out

Pricing is unusually difficult to compare in conversational commerce because platforms don’t charge for the same unit.

:::comparison What the headline price leaves out
**Prices and plan structures verified:** October 12, 2026

| Platform | Main pricing logic | What the headline price can leave out |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| **Flownally** | Active contacts; unlimited users and core features across standard plans | Extra active contacts; WhatsApp/Meta messaging costs |
| **Gorgias** | Helpdesk ticket volume + AI-resolved interactions | AI Agent usage; Voice, SMS, and Convert charges |
| **SleekFlow** | Plan tier + feature and usage limits; MAC tiers on Pro/Premium | Additional MACs, WhatsApp/SMS fees, and higher-tier integrations |
| **TextYess** | Subscription + messaging/AI usage | Additional channels, usage above included limits, and custom Enterprise requirements |
| **Respond.io** | Plan tier + users + MAC allowance + AI credits | Extra users/MACs, AI credit overages; AI Agents aren't available on Starter |
| **Manychat** | Active contacts + plan allowances | Extra active contacts; channel, user, and Inbox limits vary by tier |
| **Wati** | Subscription + messaging charges + optional add-ons | WhatsApp messaging charges, plan usage limits, and paid AI/automation add-ons |
| **Dialog** | Website traffic on paid plans | Free plan uses a conversation cap; paid cost rises with monthly visitor volume |
:::

WhatsApp deserves particular attention because platform subscriptions don’t include all Meta messaging costs. From October 1, 2026, utility template messages sent inside the 24-hour customer service window became billable per delivered message. Service replies also became chargeable, but each business phone number receives 1,000 free service messages per calendar month before charges apply. Rates vary by recipient market.

If WhatsApp is a major part of your setup, use our [**WhatsApp Business API Pricing Calculator**](https://www.flownally.com/whatsapp-pricing) to estimate messaging costs separately from the software subscription.

Before comparing platforms, write down at least:

- monthly active customers or contacts,
- number of agents who need access,
- ticket or conversation volume,
- expected AI-resolved interactions,
- website traffic if relevant,
- and your main messaging markets.

Then compare the products against the same operating assumptions.

A simplistic “2,000 contacts costs X on every platform” model can be misleading because one platform may charge by contacts, another by tickets, another by AI outcomes, and another by website traffic.

## Which platform should you choose?

- Choose **Flownally** if you want **customer conversations to continue across automation, human advice, business events, and follow-up** without pricing the platform primarily around agent seats or support tickets.
- For **deep Shopify service automation and autonomous AI**, look closely at **Gorgias**.
- For **broad omnichannel coverage with native Shopify workflows and AI Agents**, consider **SleekFlow**.
- For an **AI-first CRM that takes on more ecommerce selling and customer-care work**, look at **TextYess**.
- For **high-volume multichannel routing and workflow infrastructure**, consider **Respond.io**.
- For **Instagram and social engagement automation**, **Manychat** remains one of the strongest fits.
- For a **WhatsApp-centered customer engagement stack**, evaluate **Wati**.
- For **onsite AI product discovery**, look at **Dialog**.

Before making the final decision, check three things.

### Who owns the next step?

Look at what happens after automation answers the easy question. Can a person take over without losing context? What happens if the customer goes quiet? Can the next customer or commerce event restart the journey?

### How much autonomy should AI have?

Some teams want AI to resolve as much as possible. Others sell expensive, complex, or trust-sensitive products where individual advice remains commercially valuable.

Platforms such as Gorgias and TextYess currently put autonomous AI much closer to the center of the operating model. Flownally puts more emphasis on structured journeys, intent detection, customer context, and human handoff.

Neither model is automatically better. The right balance depends on what your customers buy and where human judgment improves the outcome.

### Do you need native depth or integration flexibility?

Gorgias is particularly strong in deep Shopify-native service operations, while SleekFlow offers useful native Shopify workflows across its inbox, automation, and AI features.

An API- and event-driven approach gives more flexibility when you use another ecommerce system, several systems, or custom business events.

Decide whether your priority is **ready-made depth inside a specific stack** or **the ability to design the journey around your own architecture**.

:::cta Not sure which conversational commerce setup fits your business?

The right platform depends on where buying conversations happen today, which parts can be automated safely, where people add value, and what needs to happen after the immediate interaction ends.

A free Flownally messaging strategy review starts with that customer journey.

We’ll look at where conversations currently start and stop, which steps can be automated, where human advice matters, which business events should change the next step, and whether Flownally actually fits the way your team works.

If another approach makes more sense, we’ll tell you.
